Learning in PJs

Hello Hoover Rockets,
We were all comfortable today reading and learning in our PJs.  This is one of my favorite Spirit Days all year.
Mrs. Lempke's Class in PJs.

4th Grade M-STEP

Our 4th Grade Students are working hard with the M-STEP.  They have completed the English Language Arts, Science Part I, and part of the Math.  We will finish the M-STEP next week.  Thank you for insuring that our students are getting a good nights sleep and a healthy breakfast.

River Raisin Battlefield Field Trip

Our 3rd Graders went to the River Raisin Battlefield.  This is a National Park located in Monroe.  Mrs. Cowher applied and won a grant, which provided the bus transportation, so all three third grade classes could attend together. The students learned about the War of 1812.  To learn more about this National Park go to this website https://www.nps.gov/rira/index.htm

*Thank you to all the parents that came in on Wednesday and Friday to assemble boxes.  We have already begun to fill those boxes.  Look for a future Sign Up Genius entitled Packing Parents.  We will need some help in the Leveled Library, Math and Science Closet and in the Teacher's Lounge.
*Looking for some family fun this Sunday?  Join us at the Livonia Recreation Center from 6:00-8:00 pm.  It is Hoover PTA Member Appreciation Night.  If you are a member of the PTA you can enjoy the use of the Recreation Center for no charge.
Did you know that our students get compliments on almost every field trip?  The guides, bus drivers and staff at the various locations always let us know at the end of the trip "your students were so polite, kind, and respectful".  Keep it up Hoover Rockets!  We are so proud of you.

The Michigan State Capitol building is a National Historic Landmark, and has served as the seat of Michigan's state government since the building was completed in 1878 at a cost of $1.2 million. The building is located at the intersection of Capitol and Michigan Avenues in Michigan's state capital, Lansing.
At one time, the building was large enough to house the state's government agencies and departments. Now, the building houses only the legislative and executive branches of Michigan's state government, as well as the ceremonial offices of the state's governor and lieutenant governor. On the ground floor can be found several offices, such as the Secretary of the Senate and the Clerk of the House.
The present building is the third to house the Michigan state government. The first state capitol was located in Detroit, which was the original capital of Michigan. The capital was relocated westward to Lansing in 1847 to be more defensible from Brittish troops stationed in Windsor, Ontario, and to develop the western portions of the state.
