First Grade Field Trip
Our First Graders had a great time at the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum before break. They were able to work in the slime lab and climb a rock wall. Thank you to the parents that chaperoned and to our PTA.

Reflections
Our very own Corinne Christensen (Mrs. Peer's class) received an award of excellence at the state reflections celebration, for her photo of Clarence.
Did you know our Girl Scout Troop 71722 will be collecting items for their Tailwaggers Take Action Project? Third Grade Brownies are collecting the following items for Tailwaggers, a Livonia non-profit for pets and owners. This clinic provides medical treatment and serves as a pantry for owners who are temporarily struggling to supply their pets’ basic needs.
Collection boxes will be at Hoover Elementary Schools from April 23 - 27. Donations are greatly appreciated!

Penny
Wars: April 16th-20th
Hoover will have our annual Penny Wars. The contest will decide what animal the
PTA should adopt at the Detroit Zoo. Our Hoover Rockets, and sometimes
community members, bring in their spare change and place it in one of two jars.
This year’s two animal choices will be the giraffe
or kangaroo. The winning animal will
be adopted and a plaque will be placed outside their habitat at the zoo. Please
send in loose change with your Hoover Rocket next week to participate and your
student can help us decide which habitat to adopt.
Ice Cream Social/Art and Science Fair will be Thursday, April 26th
from 6-8pm. This will be a big night for Hoover as we have a chance to see our
Rockets artistic abilities and scientific experiments on display. Please join
us for a fun night celebrating our Hoover Rockets and enjoy an ice cream
sundae. This event is free; however donations are appreciated for the Ice Cream
Social portion. The signup
genius will be available soon.
Science Fair reminders: Projects will be accepted
Wednesday, April 25th from 4-5:30pm and Thursday, April 26th
from 7:45-9am. We have approximately 125 projects that will be on display! The
classes will be visiting the fair during school hours on Thursday, April 26th,
and the students participating in the fair will have an opportunity to talk
about their projects. All Science Fair participants will receive a medal for
participating upon dropping off their display boards. These medals are to be
worn during the school day on Thursday, as well as at the fair in the evening.
We are so proud of our AMAZING HOOVER ROCKETS for participating in this year’s
first (in a long time) Science Fair.
