LPS Bus Driver Appreciation
A few PTA volunteers have joined forces
to shower LPS bus drivers with some appreciation on May 7.
You may have noticed the donation boxes that were placed in
the lobby before break.
The Signup has been well received by the
community so far. A few opportunities do remain for
donating - such as gift cards; packaged nuts, specialty
chocolates, drinks and you choose wrapped items.

Hot Dog Lunch
Thanks Mrs. Wilcox for making our special Hot Dog Lunch today on Hat Day.
Poem in Your Pocket
April is National Poetry Month. One way we will celebrate is by participating in “Poem in your Pocket Day” on Thursday, April 18th. On this day, students will carry a poem in their pocket for the day. We will have opportunities throughout the day for students to share their poems.
Here’s what ALL students will need to do to get ready for “Poem in your Pocket Day.”
· Find a poem that your child would like to share with your classmates. Remember they must be able to read it by themselves.
· Copy the poem. You may write it down, make a photocopy, or type it up on the computer. Make sure to include the title, the complete poem, and poet’s name.
· Practice reading your poem at home so that you are ready to read it in class.
· Bring your poem to school on April 18th.
Did you know that 8.7 Billion gallons of water would be saved this year if every American who washes their car at home went to a car wash just once instead, according to The Green Book, by Elizabeth Rogers and Thomas M. Kostigen?
