4.27.18

Dear Hoover Rockets,

M-STEP

Our 3rd and 4th grade students will begin taking the M-STEP on Monday!  Please make sure students are at school on time, have had a healthy breakfast and a good night's sleep.
We will be taking the M-STEP for the next 2 weeks, Monday-Thursday, in the morning.

Art Fair/Science Fair

The building has never looked so nice.  We have amazing artists at Hoover.  The hallways are colorful and vibrant.  The Science Fair projects were so interesting!  We learned a lot about slime, dish soap, braids, food coloring, mold and bacteria. Thank you to Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Testa for a wonderful Science Fair.

Lansing

Mrs. Larabell and Ms. Janis' class had a great time in Lansing this week.

Mrs. Larabell's class with Laura Cox

Did you know that our first grade Hoover Rockets are writing opinion letters to adults?  While observing in Mrs. Horgan's classroom I saw students learning about the "greeting", "body" and "closing" to a letter.  In my mailbox I received 5 letters from her class.  Here are some examples:

I have an idea.  I think we should get more games on the computers.  One reason is because some games are boring.  Another reason is because we can learn more.

Mrs. Linn I have an idea!  I think we need a day off every Monday.  One reason is because you can read your guided reading book.  Another reason is because you can tack a nap and refresh your mind.  My third reason is because you can help your mom and dad to clean up.  I think we need a day off every Monday.
