11.6.16

Hello Hoover Rockets,

I recently heard from a family who moved to another town and school.  They said they really missed Hoover.  I asked, "what do you miss?"  They said "Hoover is such a warm, friendly, welcoming environment".  Parents are invited to participate in events and the staff truly care for each of the students and their families.  This family shared that the new school is "sterile".  We work hard to create a school that is empathetic, respectful, caring and positive.  Thank you for all the support, donations, smiles, and positive energy that you bring to Hoover.  Together we are Wild About Hoover.

Technology in the Classrooms
Hoover students are learning how to use the Chromebooks for a variety of tasks. Mrs. Skibinski's class is working with Mrs. Jungwirth and a class in Taiwan to learn about building an Outdoor Habitat.

Ms. Fortier's class was using the Chromebooks to practice Every Day Mathematics and i-READY instruction this week.

Herbert Hoover
President Hoover portrait.tif

Did you know that our school is named after Herbert Clark Hoover?  He was an American politician who served as the 31st President of the United States from 1929 to 1933. As president from 1929 to 1933, his ambitious programs were overwhelmed by the Great Depression, that seemed to get worse every year despite the increasingly large-scale interventions he made in the economy.
