Hoover Cares!

Hello Hoover Rockets,

Thank you for the cereal donations!  We collected 305 cereal boxes for Blessings in a Backpack!

Eco-Action Update
Last Thursday, every class at Hoover totaled all of the pounds of paper and cardboard they have recycled in their classrooms since we began weighing in March.  Are you ready for the grand total?  In just 7 weeks, Hoover classrooms recycled 426 pounds!  That is a lot of paper that we saved from going into a landfill.  Good going Hoover Rockets!

Some classes predicted the recycling grand total before we added it all up. Mrs. Cannell's class came in first place by predicting that our grand total would be 276 pounds.  Mrs. Horgan's class came in 2nd place with an estimate of 1,000 pounds.

Keep recycling, weighing and graphing. You are making a difference. Together we can reach for a better world!

Library News
This is the last week students can check out books from the library.  All books are due back to the Library on Friday, May 26th.  Please look around your house for any Hoover Library Books.  Thank you.

Butterflies in First Grade
Mrs. Poteracki's class has butterflies.  5 of our 6 butterflies have emerged from their chrysalis! The students are so excited to see them!

Thank you to our outgoing PTA board for all your hard work, dedication and time that you have donated to Hoover!  We appreciate all the planning, shopping, organizing, counting, fundraising and caring that you have provided.  Welcome to the new PTA Board!  We look forward to a great 2017/18 school year.
