Hello Hoover Rockets,

Family Fitness Night
We are focusing on Healthy Hearts this month.  Hoover Families exercised on Tuesday to keep their hearts healthy.  We did a warm up all together in the Multi-Purpose Room and then participated in station events throughout the building.

Valentines Day
Our students enjoyed Valentines Day Parties this week.  Thank you to all the parents that came in and helped with the parties.

100s Day
Our Kindergarten and First Grade Classrooms celebrated the One Hundredth Day of School on Thursday.   They made hats, collected 100 items and enjoyed snacks!

Did you know that our first grade teachers have over 65 years of experience combined?  They collaborate together to provide a stimulating, engaging, rigorous first grade classroom experience.  First graders do Chromebook Wednesdays, Frog Reports, How To books and a trip to the Hands On Museum.

Box Tops Contest wrapped up Friday, February 16th. Thank you for all your support clipping out the Box Tops. Our next contest will be next fall. Thank you to the many parent volunteers for taking the time to count the Box Tops and you all have until Wednesday, February 21st to turn them into the office or the Chairperson, Amanda Rice.

Book Bingo: Calling all book lovers!! Book Bingo is Thursday, March 1st from 6-7pm. This fun FREE night offers bingo, popcorn and book prizes. Come on out to Hoover and help us kick off March is Reading Month.
Do you have some books around your house that are collecting dust? We are welcoming gently used book donations, children's books, cookbooks, fiction and non-fiction novels. We look forward to seeing you and your family for a fun night out.
Spirit Day: Our next Spirit Day will be Friday, March 2nd. The theme is Favorite Book Characters. We are all looking forward to seeing the imaginative character choices.   Career Day has been rescheduled for April 13, 2018.

Science Fair: Hoover Science Fair 2018 Kick off Assembly will be Friday, March 2nd in the afternoon. Every grade level will participate in the assembly and information will be sent home Friday, March 2nd, with specific details about the Science Fair. This science fair is optional for all students, but we are hopeful that our AMAZING Hoover Rockets will be excited to take on this challenge. Your interest and encouragement will help to make this a valuable learning experience for your child. Families with multiple Hoover students are welcome to work on a Hoover Science Fair project together. The Science Fair will be held this year in conjunction with the Art Fair and Ice Cream Social during the evening on Thursday, April 26th
