Hearing Screenings
The Wayne County Health Department will be coming and conducting Hearing Screenings to all students in Kindergarten, First, Second and Fourth Grade.  They will be here at Hoover on September 26-28 .  If you child fails the screening you will receive a letter in the mail.

Hoover Outdoor Classroom

Did you know that we have 2 amazing long term substitutes at Hoover?  Mrs. Baden is subbing for Mrs. Peer and Mrs. Acosta is subbing for Mrs. Mayne.
THIS WEEK: The PTA hosted a luncheon for our amazing staff on Thursday. During this luncheon the staff fills out their “wish lists” for the school year. Then throughout the year the PTA will gift the teachers from their lists.

OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT: Bring your blankets and camping chairs for a night of fun on the back field of Hoover Friday, September 28th. Earlier this week our Hoover Rockets voted on the movie and they chose Paddington 2. WALK-A-THON: The biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up on Wednesday, October 3rd. Our Hoover Rockets will be participating in our 5th Annual Walk-a-thon to help raise funds for our Hoover PTA. Students are asked to collect pledges in support of them completing laps around a ¼ mile track for 25 minutes during a day filled with laughter, music, healthy exercise and ROCKET PRIDE!! In order to make this event a success, we are counting on your support and generosity to help each student meet a recommended pledge goal of $40 per student (suggested amount—any amount above or below is GREATLY appreciated) in hopes of reaching our school goal of $10,000!! PALS (Parents At Lunch)  You can sign up to come in the lunch room and help students open items in their lunch so they have more time to eat.  Click on the link and select the days that you are available.

Our Box Top$ for Education FALL contest starts this coming Monday, October 8thand runs until Friday, October 19th. Please help our AMAZING HOOVER ROCKETS earn "free money" by sending in your Box Tops for Education. The PTA will award a classroom party to the top earning class in each grade level.  Some popular brands supporting Box Tops are Annie’s, General Mills cereals, Zip Loc bags, and Lysol products. Just cut out the Box Tops coupon on the packaging and save it to send in to your child's class during the contest. Each coupon is worth 10 cents. Last year, we raise around $800 for Hoover Elementary School!! You can also participate by downloading the Bonus Box Top App to your smart phone. Simply download the app, create or login to your Box Top account, look for Bonus Offers, buy the products and upload a picture of your receipt to the app for points.
